The workshop will focus on how Wittgenstein’s early and later philosophy 
might shed light on various mental phenomena such as rule following, 
intentionality, or understanding (broadly construed), as well as on 
different aspects of the nature of language and language use. Paper 
proposals pertaining to relevant topics not specified here will also be 
considered. 

The format of the graduate workshop: 4 separate sessions of 30-minutes 
student presentations (two in the morning and two in the afternoon), each of 
which is going to be followed by commentaries of the invited speakers and a 
further 10-15 minutes session of open discussions.  After the graduate 
student sessions, Martin Stokhof will present a paper at the UEA 
Wittgenstein Workshop (this is of course open to graduate students as well). 

Please submit long abstracts: 500-1000 words. The graduate workshop language 
is English.

There is no registration fee. However the number of places available is 
limited, so early registration is recommended. For enquiries about the
